All of Creation Rejoices:
The Life of the Mother of God in Readings and Music
When: Sunday, 26th May, 2019 at 5.00 pm.
Where: St John Chrysostom's Church, Victoria Park
Come and enjoy a devotional May evening in honour of Mary, the Most-Holy Mother of God, as we follow her life from her Conception to her Dormition and glorious Assumption. There will be spiritual readings from various sources, as well as hymns and antiphons from the Gregorian, Greek, and Slavic chant traditions.
This debut programme of our choir will include original compositions and adaptations by Maxim Kovalevsky and Grégoire Mendez, both pioneers of adapting and harmonising the ancient Gregorian and other chants for modern liturgical use.
You can look forward to a haunting rendition of the Ave, Maris Stella, join in a rousing version of the Regina Cæli, and enjoy a new arrangement of the Sub Tuum Præsidium, composed specially for this event. We look forward to seeing you.
Please stay for a glass of wine afterwards. A small donation would be welcomed towards the funds of our host church.
